Sidebar & Below: These students are creating an educational video for younger audiences telling a story of events in colonial America that would lead to the ideas behind protections and guarantees of our Bill of Rights.
With our PBL Theme (2) Individuals have Rights and Responsibilities, as students achieve our Social Studies standards, they connect various subjects and ideas, from Mathematics, Computer sciences, Publications, and English language arts. Pictured here students are learning and using fundamental filmology skills, the minimal budget set design, visual storytelling, team collaboration, film editing, and a plethora of real-world skills.

Students are learning the “Rule of 3” when
filming a wide-angle and are setting up for visual
storytelling using a simple iPhone and editing software.
Students: created a PSA about cellphones in school using visual leading lines to draw the viewer's attention and add humor to their message.

Chess Club Returns!
After another awesome club season in 2020-21, we are excited to kick off a new year of Belle Plaine Scholastic Chess! Chess Club is open to students from 5th grade through 8th grade. A special thanks to our former members of the club from the high school, including our 2019-20 club president Mike Ray for volunteering to help out.
